Germanwings airline

Has anyone flown on germanwings airline. There are cheap flights to Germany from Amsterdam, which my kids would like to see. Wondering if the airline is good.

I haven't flown with them, but they are as reliable as any other.

I've flown with them once between London and Hannover. Typical budget airline. As usual with budget airlines, make sure you understand what you're paying for, how much luggage you're allowed, and whether you have to print out your own boarding passes.

Appears to be a typical budget airline. Here is a review: http://www.airlineratings.com/ratings/133/germanwings and another: http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/germanwings.htm

Don't put a lot of faith in the reviews. Skytrax says Air Canada is the best in North America and the last two trips I took on Air Canada were miserable. I just look for good rates safe carriers with good schedules. The rest I figure is just hit and miss.

They are a budget airline, 100% owned by Lufthansa, pretty reliable, all new Airbus 320 family aircraft. The airline will be renamed into Eurowings next year. Eurowings will also offer long-haul flights into Cologne-Bonn airport on A330s.

Compare to Air Berlin.
