Has anyone been on the German wine route and loved where they stayed? I would love recommendations. We would love a farm home, old castle or small pension in town. Love views and warm local people, and doesn't have to be fancy. And what are the forest huts I've read about? Can you stay in them and are they hike in only? We'll probably start Bad Durkheim and travel south. Thanks,
