German rail pass & bus to Berchtesgaden

Hi
I've been making some seat reservations for day trips from Munich. I will be going to Berchtesgaden via Salzburg. The second leg will be on the #840 bus. I plan to use a flexi DB pass.
Does anyone know if the pass will cover that bus from Salzburg to Berchtesgaden?
Thanks

Other than IC buses and a discount on the Romantic Road Coach, I don't think that the pass covers buses at all, particularly a bus outside of Germany.

But if you get off the regional Meridian train from Munich in Freilassing (the last stop in Germany), you can go by another regional train (Berchtesgadener Land Bahn) via Bad Reichenhall to Berchtesgaden Hbf. That train will be covered by the pass.

Taking the train from Freilassing will be faster than most other connections using the bus. The train to Berchtesgaden is timed to leave Freilassing 7 minutes after the Meridian train from Munich arrives. Considering that the Meridian train is a major source of passengers for the BLB train, it will probably wait if the train from Munich is a little late.

The change at Freilassing Bhf is an easy, one platform change (Gl. 2 to Gl 1). The bus stop for bus #840 at Salzburg Hbf is a little difficult to find.
