german rail pass

I have used versions of the 4/5 day flexi pass and found it a convenient means for train travel. However, for my trip in Sept, as I read the details, there was no mention of bus tram use and I thought that was previously true...on the day of train travel

The GRP has never covered local municipal bus or tram service. Only a handful of buses are covered, the most prominent of which are the DB-owned IC buses that cover intercity transport - like Prague > Nuremberg or Prague > Munich.

DB has ALWAYS covered the S-Bahn trains - the ones used for short-distance transportation. All major cities have these; Here is some information on Munich's where you can see a photo and a map of the network:
