Staying in Fussen, wanting to see Zugspitze tomorrow. I know the German side thru Garmish is more expensive/crowded but also heard it’s easier for those relying on public transport like me.

I can't answer as I've always driven to the Eibsee Parkplatz. However; take a look at the weather. Things change though and not meant to discourage a visit!

Yeah I’ve been using weather app on iPhone. Today for example it said 50-60% chance of rain all afternoon as day progressed it dropped to 30% and only for hour or two. I feel they forecast too pessimistic. Tomorrow before 2pm it’s forecasted partly cloudy. Does Zugspitze require mostly sunny conditions to enjoy?

If it is a once in a lifetime visit I would not deny going even in bad weather. Your decision. A Bier and a Bretze. You can look around, Zugspitzkapelle, watch it snow? Probably no great view though (Nebel/foggy). The Zahnradbahn (cog) is different. Cable cars are nice. Maybe not so many people? Maybe you are weather lucky? Been there done that. Don't think they lower the price in bad weather.

Well, when coming from Munich of course the German Zugspitzbahn is easy to reach by train.
Coming from Füssen by public transport the fastest way is to take the bus via Reute and Leermos. Thus “Tiroler Zugspitzbahn” from Ehrwald is best to reach. https://www.zugspitze.at/en/service/planning-your-visit/getting-here-parking/
That said, walking along the shore of Eibsee where the “German Zugspitzbahn” departs is just magnificent.
Warnings:
- From 05/30/22 - 06/01/22 the Glacier Cable car is closed for maintenance. That means you can’t go down from the peak to the glacier (Zugspitzblatt) or vice versa by cable car.
- If you go tomorrow take the earliest connection. In the morning it will be nice but there is a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.
