german 1 day pass

Does the day pass offer unlimited rides?
Planning a day trip to black forest area from Mannheim can this be covered by the ("Quer-durchs-Land-Ticket") can this be used for unlimited train rides ie from mannheim to offenburg and then onto konstanz.
db bahn provides on details on the pass.
any other suggestions for stops along the way to black forest area?

Yes. The QdL ticket is valid throughout Germany. Buy it for weekday travel. On weekends, use the cheaper Weekend Ticket.

You must use ONLY the local and regional trains; IC, ICE, EC and other long-distance trains are verboten. To find the correct trains be sure to check the "only local transport" box when doing your itinerary search:

The Black Forest is pretty much over with by the time you reach Donaueschingen. You may not want to travel even that far.

One of the best stops on your Offenburg route (The Black Forest Railway) is the Vogtsbauernhof museum in Gutach.

Gengenbach and Villingen are particularly nice towns.

Since Mannheim, Offenburg, the Black Forest, and Konstanz are all in the state (Land) of Baden-Württemberg, why not use the less expensive Länder-Ticket (Hint: click on the title "Day Ticket for Baden-Württemberg". Its restrictions (9 AM workdays, regional trains) are the same as the QdLT, but it is only 23€ for the first person, 5€ for persons 2 - 5). It's vaild on any day and is limited to travel within Baden-Württemberg and to a few border stations (Basel Bad, Lindau, Nördlingen, and Ludwigshafen) just outside the Land.

More information is provided in German here.

db bahn provides on details on the pass.

Don't you mean no details? Probably because you used the former name, "Quer-durchs-Land-Ticket", instead of the new name, "Day Ticket for Germany".

Lee's correct - Mannheim is a station within the Rheinland-Pfalz ticketing network. But like some stations, it also is a station within the B-W network. The B-W ticket is all you need.
