Garmisch Summer-Ticket

Hello everyone,

I am going to Munich in late May. I spare one day to visit the Zugspitze and find out that there is a Garmisch Summer-Ticket. I would like to ask some questions on it.

  1. Is Garmisch Summer-Ticket include tickets from Munich Hbf to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and also Garmisch to the peak?
  2. Where can I buy the ticket?

It seems good but still the website did not provide much information.

Thank you very much and will you buy this ticket?

It seems that the ticket covers the price of the Deutsche Bahn train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Bayerische Zugspitzebahn to the top of the mountain. The Zugspitzebahn is a separate railroad from the national rail carrier, and the terminal station in Garmisch is located immediately adjacent to the main Deutsche Bahn station. The websites indicates that you need to present your Summer Ticket at the counter of the Zugspitzebahn station to receive the ticket for that portion of the trip. Note that the Garmisch Classic ticket allows you only to ride the cable cars to the lower skiing area on the slopes of the Alpspitz, whereas the Zugspitze ticket gives you access to the top of the main mountain.

You can likely purchase the overall ticket from any kiosk at the Munich Hauptbahnhof.
