Hi Guys,

I really hope that you can help me with few questions i have about my trip to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Based on your input i will plan for how many days i should stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

I an an hiker and mountain lover and looking at this trip as the highlight of Germany visit. I want to try all good hikes of this place. So far all i read about places Zugspitze, Garmish-classic, Mount wank and Partnachklamm. But have no ides how to make an ideal itinerary to fit all major hiking in my trip and anything else that am not aware of.

Kindly suggest how can i hike all best places and for how many days i should stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen?

Thanks

We hiked the gorge area. My sister hiked up to small lake. We hiked near Lake Eibsee. The thing is, there are so many hikes near by. Take any gondola up and there are hikes surrounding that area.

We stayed for a week. We did not get bored or run out of activities. I would say that I wouldn't stay for less than 3 days, 4 if you really want to get some hikes in.

Back in 1990, when I lived in Augsburg, I took my kids on a two day hike to the top of the Zugspitze. We stayed in a Hutte overnight. It was in July and the second day we had freezing rain and sleet most of the way. Still, we finished the hike up to the cable car station. I had previously do the hike when the weather was excellent. It was a great hike.
