Fussen/Reutte to Zurich--Best way?

Hello All,

I need help with train travel from Fussen/Reutte to Zurich or Lucerne, the second week of August. I would like the quickest most economical route but I’m having trouble navigating the DB site. Is this because I’m traveling outside of Germany? Would it be better to take a bus? TIA :)

A bus (buses) from Füssen/Reutte to Zürich or Luzern is likely to be more complicated then the train.

The Bahn query webpage has an English language side. If you learn a little bit about the geography and how to spell the town names in German, it's not difficult to navigate. Hint: spell Füssen, "Fuessen", and Zürich, "Zuerich".

About the "best" (price, time, and number of changes) connection I find between Füssen and Zürich is an RE from Füssen to Buchloe, and EC from there to Zürich. With advance purchase and commitment to a train specific ticket, you can get fares as low as 49€/pers.

You can also book a "non-stop" bus from Munich to Zürich on the Bahn website for as little as 19€ (Savings Fare). That bus is actually slightly faster than the EC, but you'll have to go back to Munich to catch the bus (at Hackerbrücke ZOB).

If you put in Fuessen to Zuerich HB with a stopover at Muenchen Hbf, you can get a ticket including the train to Munich Hbf and the 1 minute S-Bahn to Hackerbrücke for as low as 29€.
