Fussen itinerary

The Bavarian leg of my trip to Germany includes the destinations Salzburg & Fussen. I'll be departing from the former by car and driving to Fussen for a two-night stay. During that time (half day, one full day), I'd like to visit the following sights: the two King's Castles, Linderhof Castle, Oberammergau and Zugspitze. My initial thought was to visit Zugspitze, from the Germany side, en route to Fussen from an early departure in Salzburg, but I'm not keen on leaving the luggage in the car while parked. Alternatively, I'm considering a visit to the king's Castles upon first arriving in Fussen but hesitant to reserve a ticket with a timed admission for that reason. Any advice or suggestions on how best to manage the available time and sequence for these attractions would be greatly appreciated?
Thank you.

Drive to your lodging in Fuessen and drop your luggage there, even if your room is not ready. They will hold it in the back room for you. Then you will be free to travel for the rest of the day, returning at the end of the day, pick up your bags and move into your room.

Garmisch/Fussen is a great destination. DON'T miss going up the Zugspitze. Frankly, I consider it more an event than the old king's castles.
