We need to get from the Hohenschwangau Castle to the Hertz Rental Car in Fuessen to pick up our car by 11:30 am at the latest (after touring Hohenschwangau). I understand there aren't taxis at Hohenschwangau, just the bus. I'd rather not have to take the bus all the way into Fuessen Station and then catch a taxi and backtrack to Hertz. Seems to be a waste of time and money as Hertz is halfway between the castles and Fuessen off Hwy 17. Suggestions?

It looks like the bus from Hohenschwangau to Füssen stops in Horn about 100 yds from Hertz.

First, find the address of the Hertz office near Füssen. Go to Google Maps and look for "Hertz, Fuessen", The second offering will be "Hertz Füssen-Schwangau, Füssener Straße 112, Füssener Straße, Schwangau, Germany". Pick that and the location of the Hertz office, Füssener Staße 112) will be shown on the map.
Then I looked at the schedule for the bus from Hohenschwangau to Füssen and found that it makes a stop in Horn (actually, I already knew it did). Go to the Bahn schedule webpage, http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query2.exe/en. Put in from: Hohenschwangau. It will offer something like "Hohenschwangau, Neuschwanstein Castle ...". Select that and put in the address for to: "Schwangau - Horn, Fuessener Strasse 112". Add a date and time and pick "search". It will come up with a bunch of bus connections; pick one with "Horn, Schwangau" as the destination and select details.
Usually, the "map" function will work (it's not working today) and show you a map of the connection. Drag a box around the red and green flags at the end of the connection and it will show you the walk. The bus stops at the intersection of Kienbergweg and Füssenerstr, about 100 meters from the Hertz office.
The bus takes about 4 minutes to get to Horn from Hohenschwangau.
