Thank you in advance

Make sure you are at the right station (the train does not stop at Hbf).

Hi Roger,

the nightjet from Düsseldorf to Vienna runs daily, stops at Frankfurt Airport and Frankfurt South (not main station!) and is operated by Austrian train company ÖBB. You can choose between seated accommodation, couchette or sleeper cabin. Bookings can be made online through: https://www.nightjet.com/en/
Although I have not been on this particular service, I love to travel by night train (done e.g. Berlin-Vienna) and use ÖBB quite regularly. Are there any specific topics you are interested in?

Hi Dina, thank you for your reply. During my Air Force career, my wife and I were lucky enough to enjoy German life often during the 70's and 80's. We now live in Texas and would like to visit Germany, Prague, Vienna, and Budapest probably next year. We would most likely fly into Frankfurt and are considering recovering from jet lag on the over nighter to Vienna. Probably would try to reserve the deluxe sleeping room with bath. However, because flights between Frankfurt and Vienna are very reasonably, another possibility would be to first spend a couple nights in Wiesbaden where we lived 1973-1975. I would love to hear any advice you may want to offer.

Hi,

I have taken this night line Frankfurt Hbf to Vienna, then it was to Wien Westbahnhof. No problems, quite satisfactory. Howver, I did not book a sleeper or couchette, just sat in a six seat compartment after boarding in Frankfurt Hbf....can't help you there.

I was coming from Paris Est, changed in Frankfurt Hbf for the night train, arrived after 09:30.
