We will have a full day in Frankfurt on Tues, Nov 17. We arrive the night before and leave the day after. We've been to Frankfurt and Mainz last fall for short stays. If there is anything particular going on in Frankfurt, we'd love to know. We also would appreciate suggestions for a quick day trip (one hour or less by train). We assume the weather will be pretty ugly in mid-November? Yes?

When the weather is not too bad, cities like Mainz, Würzburg and Heidelberg are within your travel limit, give or take a few minutes.

The temperatures probably won't be nearly as cold as you might think, but the atmosphere will almost certainly be overcast and damp.
For daytrips, look into Marburg, Büdinging, Seligenstadt and Miltenberg.
