Hi There,
Sorry if this isn't the correct forum. We are new to all of this. We are planning travel from Seattle to Athens. It looks like booking directly with Condor air will work best for us. However, there is only a 2 hour layover in the Frankfurt airport. Is that enough time to arrive from the Seattle, go through security and possibly another terminal? Would it be better if we chose a longer layover option?
Thanks.
If all on one ticket, two hours should be enough time to go thru passport control and on to your next gate. We’ve gone thru Frankfurt numerous times and I don’t remember having to do thru security again like at for instance Heathrow.
It could be tight, i.e., you will be rushing and no time to tarry, but I would definitely go for it.
I'd feel better if there were later 'insurance' flights available from Frankfurt but if all goes well shouldn't be a problem.
I've been through Frankfurt successfully in 2 hours, but it was a tight squeeze and I didn't make one stop other than to go through security check. It merits some research ahead of time - look at airport layout, track where the Seattle flight typically arrives and where the Athens flight typically departs, so you can visualize your route. For some of those inter-Europe flights, you're bussed out to your plane, so you do need more time than if the plane was actually at the terminal.
