Anyone recommend any local guides or companies for a day trip from Frankfurt into the countryside? We won't have a car, or can you visit any winery's via train?

Hi. I am a native german and I live in Frankfurt.
It is pretty easy to hop on a train and take a day trip out into the wine region called Rheingau. No guide needed.
There are plenty of destinations within a hours ride to choose from. For example Eltville, from the train station you can take a hike uphill through the the vine yards ( or take a public bus ) to the old monastery and wine estate Kloster Eberbach. They offer guided tours and wine tasting in english language.

Eltville itself is very nice too, you can stroll through town and have a look at the old buildings and enjoy a wine at the banks of the river Rhein.
