Would like suggestions for excursions, day trips by train or cycling for three days in October. I will be flying into Frankfurt from the US and was wondering if I can take the train to France and still reenter Germany, if not then would like ideas for trips in the area south of Frankfurt. How are you getting away with not going into quarantine for 2 weeks, coming from the US?
Otherwise, spend some time seeing Frankfurt which has plenty of options depending on your interests. Tell us more and we can make better suggestions.
Towns I like to recommend are Eltville on the Rhine including Eberbach Monastery, Büdingen & Gelnhausen, Limburg, Marburg, Michelstadt, Seligenstadt, and Idstein. Or head to to Bad Homburg in the Taunus and visit the Saalburg Roman fort and Hessen Park Open Air museum.
