Frankfurt Airport Hotel Recommendation

Hi - Our flight from Nuremberg to Frankfurt got cancelled.
Does anyone know a good hotel to stay at or very close to the Frankfurt airport?

We are looking at options to take a train one day earlier, and stay at a hotel prior to our departure from Frankfurt back to the U.S.

Thank you!
M.

What time is your flight? If it isn't too early, I would stay in Frankfurt so you could sight see a little bit and have a wider choice of restaurants. There are 100s of hotels in Frankfurt to choose from, with a 13-15 min. train ride on the S-bahn. Depends on your budget too.
At the airport itself, there is the Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Sheraton/Marriott hotels.

You do not need an expensive ICE to get from Frankfurt to the airport, when the S-8 and S-9 run every 15 min. An ICE will not get you there any faster and you don't need to transfer with the S-bahn either.

You might take a look at Hilton Garden Inn Frankfurt Airport, (address: the Square, 6059 Frankfurt am Main) where we have stayed a few times. It is directly above the train station, accessed within the station building where there also are a few restaurants, shops, and a small supermarket. A skywalk connects it to the airport. Very convenient in so many ways.

We arrived in Frankfurt by train from Colmar the afternoon before our flight, and opted to stay in the city. We stayed at the Intercontinental with IHG points and it was a great choice. An easy walk from the train station. We spent our time enjoying the path along the river, up one side and back on the other, and found a good place for dinner.

In the morning it was an easy walk back to the Hauptbahnhof for transport by S-bahn to the airport.

Sadly, the Intercontinental closed about 2 years ago and has not re-opened.
Motel One near the Römer is a good choice though. Or Moxy or the Hilton that are both near the Hauptwache, with a direct train to the airport.

We stayed at the Frankfurt Hilton at the airport in October. Met all of our needs and was about a 20 minute walk from the gate to the hotel.

This is where I stayed for one night prior to a flight out of Frankfurt. It is close to all sorts of cool things to see -- like the Römer! My plans to catch the S were disrupted by a train strike that included the S to the airport, so I just booked a driver.

I arrived early afternoon and did a private walking tour with Frankfurt by Foot to try to maximize my short time there. It was great. I was very, very pleased that I stayed in the city itself instead of just staying at an airport hotel.
