Food Tours in Frankfurt or Rothenburg ob der Tauber

My husband and I are traveling in July/August with our 20 year old daughter. We would love to do a guided walking food tour in Frankfurt or Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Has anyone done a food tour in either of these places you would recommend? Thank you!

I recommend to look before which kind of kitchen you will be tasting. To me neither the Franconian nor the Frankfurt kitchen would be attractive for a food tour - tastes are different of course.

and other people actually like the cuisine of Frankfurt and northern Bavaria - Franconian.

I'm one of them. Lead me to the Green Sauce. Try to keep me away from the mini-roast-bratwurst and the other specialities.

On the other hand I've never eaten in Berlin.

This food tour in Frankfurt would be a good one. https://food-tours-frankfurt.com/

Frankfurt has more particular food dishes than other cities: Frankfkurt Grüne Soße (EU protected) Frankfurter Sausages (also EU protected) Frankfurter Kranz, Sachsenhausen Schneegestoiber, Bethmannchen, Handkäse with Music, Rippchen with Kraut, Sachsenhausen Bobbche and of course Apfelwein.

I do not want to start any competition but most German cities have numerous special dishes as well, also smaller cities. In most cases it is less a city / town but more a regional thing. Handkäse for example is EU registered as "Hessischer Handkäse" not as Frankfurt one. Furthermore Handkäse is very similar to Harzer Käse. For the interested ones an article with a deep-dive into this topic.

In every case all worth trying in and around Frankfurt but it was not my kitchen, also not when working and living in Rhein-Main area.
