Saw an article in the Local this morning about the terrible rain that Southern Germany has been experiencing. I hope that our friends who live there are ok!! How bad has the flooding been? Are you all supposed to get more rain?
No real big issue. On a page of Bavarian public TV you can see a video and read details (German).
Germany has an excellent weather warning system, provided by public weather service DWD.
My corner of the Oberpfalz it has rained on and off sometimes heavy during the last 36 hours. The front is not moving away, just circling.

Here at the river Lech (a tributary of the Danube originating in the alps) we have reached alarm level 3 (of 4). Train traffic on the Munich - Lindau (-Zürich) line has been suspended. It's not really dramatic yet, but it would be helpful if the rain would really stop tomorrow, as "promised". Because the meltwater from the Alps keeps the water levels high anyway.
