I will be arriving at the Munich airport in 2 weeks and was wondering if I need to purchase tickets for the Lufthansa Express Bus before arrival? I have a place within walking distance from the train station and it appears the Express Bus stops right in the vicinity.

I suspect not. Assuming you are talking about the bus from the airport to the
Bahnhof, it runs every 20 minutes and the price is the same no matter what.
And the ticket you buy online is not for a specific departure anyways.
The bus stop at the Bahnhof is on the north side of the station on Arnulfstrasse.

Why not just take the S-bahn? I think it would be more comfortable and probably similar time; 45-50 mins.
