Expedia car rental insurance

Hello, Has anyone had experience with collision and theft insurance offered through Expedia? Our choices are Expedia or Hertz for the insurance. Unfortunately, using our credit card insurance is not an option. We are looking for good coverage at the least expense.

Please do yourself a huge favor and get the no deductible full coverage protecting the complete car and people. Get it thru the company you rent the car from no cc coverage. If it cost a few hundred dollars it is well worth the hassle when you smash up a car. I have rented and leased vehicles for the last 35 years and learned my lesson twenty years ago. I have friends who learned their’s along the way. There are things you can lessen the cost of but cars insurance is not one of them.

We are renting through Expedia, and they offer an insurance. Or, we can wait and purchase some straight from Hertz. We are unable to get a quote on the insurance process from Hertz, but do know the coast from Expedia. It states that it will cover up to 75,000 in collision, etc. If we knew someone who had a positive experience using the Expedia insurance, we would probably purchase it due to knowing the cost.

Thank you so much for your response.

Please remember that if renting through Expedia, if there are any issues with the reservation they will mostly likely need to be resolved through Expedia. I always get insurance through the rental company when I pick up the rental. My experience has been that most insurance coverages other than basic CDW are purchased at the counter and that’s when you find out the rate.

Liability insurance is compulsory and included in the cost of the rental.
