We just returned from a trip to Western Germany which included a few days in Stuttgart. We had already planned to go the Mercedes Museum (which was great by the way), but we also wanted to see more of the area. Based on a recommendation from other travelers on this board, we contacted Sarah Dealy from Stuttgart Steps (http://stuttgartsteps.com/). She was able to combine 2 of her usual tours into an amazing private tour for my husband and I on the afternoon we arrived. We toured the center of Stuttgart and then took the S-bahn with Sarah to Esslingen for a tour of that lovely city as well. Sarah was the perfect guide for us and designed a tour to our needs. She offered a wealth of information about history, culture, architecture, daily life and food/wine. She even made dinner reservations for us in Esslingen after our tour. The morning after our tour, I received a detailed email with restaurant recommendations for our remaining days in Stuttgart and some other touring recommendations.
