My husband is a roller coaster aficionado and Europa Park is his all-around favorite theme park. He says that Voltron is the best coaster he’s ever been on - a dozen times. I, on the other hand, am a “theme” and not-so-scary, middle-of-the-road thrill ride person and Europa Park is also my all-around favorite park. My two favorite rides there are Can-Can and Arthur. For comparison, in Europe, we’ve been to the parks Chris mentioned plus we’ve been to Parc Disneyland Paris, which was kind of meh (sorry Disney people).
One of the things I like best about Europa Park is that it is compact with a good flow. It’s really well-laid out and there’s no trekking back and forth from land to land to get to the good rides. The food was decent, the stage shows were corny, but professional. I even found a quiet, secret garden behind the Carnival Barn in the Germany area where I sat quietly, undisturbed for ½ an hour.
We spent 2 days on our first visit in October 2023 and 2 days on our second in May 2025 and we’re going back this December for 2 days because, you know, roller coasters. : ) Unless you’re intent on riding rides over and over again (like my husband) I think that two adults could do the park justice in 1 full day.
If you want to stay in the little village of Rust, I can recommend the Casa Rustica Hotel. Lovely rooms, fantastic breakfast and nice Italian dinner, within a short walk to the park entrance, and easy public transit from the train station. This December we’re trying a hotel on property, El Andaluz. I’d be happy to report back about our experience if you’re interested.
