Erding spa

Any comments on the spa/sauna at Erding would be appreciated. What is the "back house" mentioned in previous reviews?

fun, easy, relaxing, big. Loved it. In 2 hours we only scratched the surface. 4 hours would have been better.

Very easy to get to, well worth it IMHO.

I have no idea about a back house.

Love Therme Erding and have been there several times.

The "back house" may be the Gebackstube. Every sauna has a theme, and the Gebackstube sauna is one in which they bake bread while you sit in the room.

I second the recommendation for the Best Western Erding hotel across from the S-bahn station in Erding. I have stayed there many times when catching an early morning flight from the Munich airport. They have (in the past have had) a shuttle bus to the airport for guests. They are also a short five minute walk from the main area of the town where there are plenty of eating and drinking options.

Note also that Therme Erding now has it's own lodgings, the Hotel Victory, which is modeled to evoke an 18th century ship of the line.

Therme Erding is wonderful. I like to spend my last day of vacation there, to relax and recharge for the stress of the trip home. As mentioned above there are several saunas, each with different themes, temperatures, aromas, etc. The huge indoor/outdoor pool, with swim-up bars, is amazing.

Therme Bad Wörishofen, an hour's train ride west of Munich, is a similar but smaller facility run by the same company.
