I stayed in this lovely hotel pre-covid, and hope to stay again in late April. I do have a reservation thru a favorite online booking company, but would like to see the prices if I booked direct. [ I think they may have been closed for awhile.] On their German website I can't find an English drop down. There is an awkward English site that is clunky and works poorly. Does anyone have a direct email address for them?
Thanks so much!
I didn't see one but you can contact them directly by going to this link - https://www.hotel-eisenhut.de/kontakt/ List your name, your email, and your message (Mitteilung) and then check the box underneath (this says you accept their privacy policies). When you're done, click Abschicken ("submit") in the lower right hand corner.
Also, you can see the prices if you go to https://onepagebooking.com/hotel-eisenhut and scroll down thru the calendar. From mid-April to late April, it looks like a double room starts at €129 and a single at €119. And while you're on this page, in the upper right hand corner is the option to change the language from Deutsch to English. For some reason it's not available until you go to the booking page.
Mardee,
thanks for taking the time to research this. The English site you provided is another third party site, and the refundable rates are even higher. I'm trying to book with the hotel directly, as it usually costs less. Several months ago I sent them an email on the German-language site, but never heard back. I got the feeling they may have been closed for awhile. Anyhow, I do have reservations that are fully refundable, again from another third party site.
Again, thanks for your time and effort- that's what makes this Forum so great!
Safe travels to you!
I do not understand the problem. The website Mardee gave you appears to be their official website:
https://www.hotel-eisenhut.de/
And if you use the “Jetzt Buchen” button at upper right it takes you to onepagebooking.com which is not a “third party” site like booking.com, etc., but the platform they have chosen to manage their bookings. That is a “direct” booking.
https://onepagebooking.com/hotel-eisenhut
If you use it in German it says 119 euros for a classic single room in mid-April.
I doubt you can get a better price by email, but did you try the one listed on that website?
From the dates displayed on their booking page, it appears they are only open on weekends and holidays through February, then daily beginning March 1.
I got the feeling they may have been closed for awhile.
The Eisenhut went bankrupt in mid-2020 due to a lack of bookings as a result of the pandemic and is now being gradually renovated and reopened by the new owners. Initially without restaurant, but hopefully from summer onwards with full restaurant operations again.
Thanks, Lola - I agree that this certainly appears to be the actual hotel website.
Pat, I'm not sure what you mean by "the English site." The website I gave you is in German, not English. You can switch to English once you go to the booking page, but it's still part of the hotel site. And Lola found their email in the bottom right hand corner of the home page.
Are you sure that your browser is not automatically translating it to English? Chrome will do that (depending on your settings) using Google Translate.
When I have the used the German-language sites, I have never received a response, and this has been over several months .
The 119Euros is a non-refundable price. I'm pretty sure that is a third-party site.
I have a reservation thru Booking.com that is refundable, and with breakfast, but in the past several OTHER hotels have encouraged me to book directly with them for better prices.
The English-language sites that I have found are third-party booking sites. I can't seem to reach the hotel directly. Oh, well, maybe after March 1 it will be different.
Thanks for your help, this is just one small problem in the scope of world problems. :)
