Trying to plan a few days in the Bavarian alps, perhaps staying in the Garmisch area,and the Eibsee looks like a great destination on its own right and also because its at the base of the Zugspitze. Has anyone combined these two for the bulk of a days activity? they look taylor made for a combined excursion but haven't read about anyone doing this.

The parking area for the German Zugspitze cable car, Eibsee Bahnhof and the Eibsee are in the same place. You can walk around the Eibsee in about two hours. There are several places for a bite and a drink near the hotel. Doing both in a day should not be a problem.
