Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has experienced this yet? I know they started to unroll this system last month. I am curious if the wait times are crazy long? It is my understanding that since we have a connecting flight in Amsterdam that we would have to do this process there, before we get to Germany. Is this correct?

Yes, you go through passport control at your first port of entry in Schengen. If you arrive first in Amsterdam and then head to Germany, you will go through passport control in Amsterdam.
I can't help with time at Amsterdam as I entered Schengen last month in Vienna and the machines were not in use.
