Has anyone recently encountered EES delays flying through Munich? I know there is a recent post about it but I was looking for input about what it's like at the moment, not when they started the implementation. I'm hoping that they have worked out some of the bugs and that German ingenuity has made it more efficient. Thank you

I am connecting in Munich at 10 am on September 3 (with 80 minutes between flights) and am also interested in the EES situation there. I have a Lufthansa to Lufthansa connection. Thanks for any recent updates.

I think, as with any place, it is going to depend on a lot of factors and can vary from day to day. For example, I've been reading reports of Keflavik Airport in Iceland having long delays due to EES, but when I was there, I walked through in about 20 minutes. So what happened to one person is probably not going to be the same as what will happen when you are there. If there are a lot of flights that day, it could get bogged down, but if not, then you may breeze through.

My friend from Iceland on Saturday and told me he didn't have to stop at any EES kiosks upon entry. It would be nice to know what to expect, but I think this might add to the "adventure".

I truly understand why you post this question. You have concerns about your connection. Others share similar concerns and we see this “current EES times” question frequently for a variety of locations.
The truth is that when it comes to EES times one person’s experience generally has no predictive value for another’s.
The time of day, the volume of passengers, the staffing levels at passport control, and the decision whether to use the machines or not all impact the timing. On the same day, in the same airport, times can vary between 15 minutes and 90 minutes.
The good news is that Munich has always had a reputation for quick connection times prior to EES. My guess is that you will probably be just fine.

Thanks Carol. I know all that but a reminder is always helpful. I’m about to make some $$$ decisions and having second thoughts. But I’m going to take a deep breath & move forward tomorrow.

It seems those of us who have traveled to Europe the last couple of months have come to the same conclusion, you need to go with the flow. My experience does not guarantee that it will be your experience. Just take a deep breath, hope for the best and don’t panic. We’ve had to deal with missed connections before EES so part of travel is knowing your options.
