EES at Munich Airport

Just went through EES for the first time today in Munich. My flight from Houston landed at 10:00AM. From the time that I got in line for the pre-registration to the time I exited immigration to go to my connecting flight was 60 minutes. They only had half of the registration machines working and the second step where you show your passport to a border agent and get it stamped was total chaos. There was a Fast Track lane for those passengers who had flights departing within 60 minutes but it was not fast. Lots of confusion with passengers about where to go. It needs to be better organized and run at least this morning in Munich.

Hope this helps!!

P.S. I made it to my connecting gate right as they started to board!

Don't stress too much. That is what our Condor Air check-in person told us. LOL.

We only had about 1.5 hrs to make our connecting flights inbound on May 9 and outbound on May 29, in Frankfurt. By all accounts, Frankfurt airport has a much worse reputation than Munich.

On our inbound, we barely made our connection. The EES seemed glitchy; it took many tries to read the fingerprints. And there was a very long and slow lineup for the passport inspection.

On the outbound, we made our connection with plenty of time to spare. The EES machines seemed to work better and the passport inspection was much more streamlined compared to 3 weeks earlier.

The EES seems to get better over time.
