What are my options getting to Munich Airport for 7 AM flight? If I take a train at 4:00 AM, is it safe to be alone in the Munich train station that early? I am a solo traveller. Or, should I stay the night before at the airport?

The train station and more specifically the S-bahn is safe. A train around 04:00 should be fine; about 45-50 mins to the airport.

I stayed at a hotel near the Munich HBF and took a pretty early train (may have been more like 6 a.m.). I felt perfectly safe. It is a trek to the airport though, if it were me I might book an airport hotel or look at staying in Freising which is closer.

The most convenient option (apart from the very expensive Hilton in the airport itself) is Gasthof Maisinger in Neufahrn, right by the airport S-Bahn (10 minutes to the terminal). If that is fully booked, I would look for something in Freising (20 min bus ride).
