Any thoughts on whether or not the Eagle's Nest would be open as early as May 4, 2019 (Saturday)? The website says mid-May is when it opens, but I was curious if anyone knew if it ever opens before that.

As I recall, the actual opening date each year depends on the snow situation at the time. The entrance to the Eagle's Nest is accessed by a narrow mountain road and if it's covered in snow, it may not be possible to get to the elevator.
