Eagles Nest/Konigsee visit

I'm coming from Salzburg and taking the Harper Eagles Nest Tour @ 13:15. Will I have plenty of time to do the Lake K boat ride before the Eagles Nest Tour? I would take the 1st bus from Salzburg (8:15) assuming. Side note: I would have taken the Doc. Ctr /Bunker visit in Obersalzberg but will have been to Numberg already, as RS says then it's a re-run.

You don't say when you will be in Berchtesgaden, but here is a typical summer weekday schedule...

8:15 Bus to Berchtesgaden
9:04 Arrive Berchtesgaden train station (bus stop at train station)
9:15 Bus 841 to Königssee, Schönau am Königssee stop
9:24 Arrive at bus stop

Short walk to the ticket office for boat rides, round trip to St Bartholomä is around 1 hour 10 minutes on the boat (boat timetable and overview map is here)

12:30 Board Bus 841
12:43 Arrive back at train station

It's a short walk around half of a round-about to get to the meeting point for the Harper's Eagles Nest Tour (see map on their website). They request that you be at their office 15 minutes before the tour. Shouldn't be a problem if buses are running on time.

Before the 12:30 bus, you have the choice of the 11:30 Bus 841 or the 11:44 Bus 842. It seems those might be a little hard to make if you add in time for waiting to buy tickets and waiting for a boat.

If you don't mind an early start, there is a 6:35 bus from Salzburg to Berchtesgaden timed with an 841 bus that gets you to Königssee in time to get on the 8 am boat across the lake, depending on the line at the ticket stand. That would give you time to go all the way across the lake to the Salet stop (2 hours round trip) and take the short, level 10-15 minute walk to Obersee (a smaller lake that is gorgeous).

Great TY Dave for all the details. I don't mind the early departure from Salzburg at all. Rather than stressing about bus times. My day is Wed. May 22.

So on May 22, you could catch the 6:35 bus from Salzburg, arrive at the Königssee bus stop at 7:52, walk toward the lake where you will find the ticket office for the boat, and buy a ticket for the first boat (8:30 am on May 22). If you decide to catch the 11:30 bus back to Berchtesgaden, there are a number of restaurants in Berchtesgaden, but I kind of liked the ReWe supermarket. It has a cafe at the front of the store with tasty, inexpensive sandwiches and drinks. It's located just off the round-about you will walk to get to the Harpers' meeting point, on the street that comes off at about 7 o'clock on the map on the Harpers' website.

TY Dave sounds like a plan. Lake K to Salet and walk to Obersee, hang a bit, then back to Lake K and bus back to Berch, food at the mat you mention.
