Driving a car with a guide in Northern Germany

I am renting a car and driving it for 2 days in smaller towns in Northern Germany. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a guide to help with the language and directions to 6-76-7 small cities?

Don't know what you meant to say by "6-76-7" but driving in Germany is similar to driving in most places. The alphabet is similar to English, the roads are very clearly marked, and after an hour or two reading up on German road signs and laws you will be good to go.

Unless you generally have trouble driving at home - where is home, do you drive on the right or left?- driving in Germany is easy. Do you use miles or kilometres at home?

Are you asking for a guide to travel with you as a passenger, or a guide in each town?
Having the same guide travel around with you will be expensive. You would have to pay for his/her hotel and other expenses. Germany is not a low wage country, you would probably have to pay him/her more than in your own country (wherever that is). I have never heard of that being done.

Having a local guide show you round each town, either 1:1 or more usually part of a small group is normal. I would enquire ahead at the tourist office of each town you intend to visit.

"driving it for 2 days . . . . 6-7 small cities" - In 2 days you could visit maximum 4 locations (2 per day), and only in a small part of Northern Germany. You need a minimum of ½ day in each location, then you need to add on travelling time, finding your hotel each night etc. And how are you getting from your arrival point (an airport) to the first town, and back to your departure point at the end? That will take up a chunk of your time. Are you really in Germany only for 2 days?

I suggest first you decide where you want to go ("Northern Germany" is too vague and large an area), and then make a list of the places you want to visit in your available time.

The 6-7-6 was a typo. I will be traveling for over 40 days and at the end of my trip am renting a car for 3 days to visit 5 small German towns within a 100 mile radius. I am mostly going to look at churches and a couple of houses that ancestors lived in. I will be going to a B & B the first night and the same kind of accommodation the 2nd night. I will not be leaving from an airport. If I miss one of them it won't be the end of the world. I think a guide would be too expensive. I am from the USA, so we drive on the same side of the road. I also know some German and plan on refreshing it before I go. I was just trying to get some feedback and I thank you for telling me I will be fine on the roads. I also have google Maps and a Michelin Map, so I guess I will survive without a guide. Thanks very much!

I am renting a car at one location and dropping it off in another location and we have miles in the US. I got the idea from a friend who wanted help locating records, so she did hire a guide and it was expensive. I already have the records, but just want to see these places.

I'm an anxious fellow US American, and I find German roads easy to drive.

Where are these 5 small towns? In which area up north?
