Hi all. Im visiting Prague this December and I set up a daytrip to Dresden on Dec 22. I've scheduled a tour of the VW Transparent Factory at noon, and Im wondering if I have time to see the Green Vault too? I'm catching a train back to Prague at 7pm. Is that enough time to see both, or wouldn't I have enough time to see both without rushing? Also, what is a good restaurant in town that serves a good schnitzel? Maybe I'll will skip the Green Vault, and just walk around sightseeing and have a nice dinner somewhere before heading back to Prague. I appreciate any help with this. Thanks!

We did the VW Transparent Factory tour in 2012 from our base in Dresden and I think with travel time both ways by bus and the tour (including browsing the showroom at the end of the tour and a snack from the VW Cafe onsite) it was about three hours. We did both levels of the Green Vault fairly quickly on another day and that was about the same amount of time, so if you have to catch the 7pm train, you would have time for both.
Can't help you with the schnitzel question.

Thanks Peter. That's just the info I needed--and I figured out the schnitzel thing on my own--found an interesting looking restaurant near the Green Vault I can try.

Actually the food at the Transparent Factory is very good. It's provided by the 5-star Kempinski Taschenbergpalais and their Schnitzel is among the best.
