Yep. The utter devastation of Dresden being bombed and burned to the ground, and now the contrast with how they've reconstructed it, and that it took as long as it did--well, it's really something.
There is a beautiful exhibit right now at the Kimball Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas of paintings which Bellotto had made of Dresden when he was in the Court of Saxony which are now being used as pictorial guides to rebuild the city.
