We are going to Germany in Sep-2022, and plan to buy the German rail pass. Can anyone help us to answer the question in the title bar?

I think the pass will cover travel to Brussels as long as it is on a DB train (ICE, not Thalys). I don't think it covers Trier to Luxembourg entirely - probably just to the last station in Germany.

German Rail Pass is not valid in Luxemburg. But within Luxemburg local trains are free. So as long as you take a local train into Luxemburg you are fine. The country is not big anyway.

So we can use the pass to travel to Luxembourg without buying extra train ticket. We will not use the pass in Luxembourg. Thank you so much for taking time to help us!
