We are going to Bacharach, Rothenberg Ob der Tauber, Nuremburg, Salzburg and Munich…Does anyone have any helpful apps that have to do with discounts, maps, recommendations of events, etc., anything that would be helpful for a family of 4 adults traveling this Christmas?

In addition to the guidebook that you probably have, the Tourist Information office in each destination is still the old-school "app"roach that's likely to be your best resource. They each also have web sites, such as http://www.muenchen.de/int/en/events.html.

Maps with me is a good offline app for maps. You just download them when you have wifi and they will not use data
