Do Insider Tours and Original Berlin Walks sell out?

Hi community,

I would like to pre-book our tours with Insider Tours for The Famous Insider Walk, and Original Walking Tours for Sachsenhausen. However, I am concerned that we may be jetlagged and need to change the dates of the tours once we get there. I don't really want to wait any longer to book so I am inclined to take our chances. (We arrive this Tuesday, 7/25).

My question to the community is, are we at risk of these specific tours selling out if we don't book now? Or do they take as many people as they can on each tour?

I have also sent this question to each company, but given that it's 10:30 pm in Berlin right now, I figured someone closer to my timezone on this forum might see my question a little faster.

Thank you!

I haven't heard of Original Berlin Walks selling out so you're probably fine.

I took a tour with Original Berlin Walks last mo th and simply bought a ticket at the starting point from the guide. Not trying to Convince you to change your plans, but they offer several tours and I was given a ticket for a couple euros off my next tour. Their city walking tour was excellent, so you might check to see if the itenerary is similar to the Insider Tour and of so, save a little money.

I do not think that Insider Tours sell out. If they see there are going to be a lot more people than they will add another guide so that the group is not too large. They have been doing tours in Berlin for probably 25 years and have a good idea of how many people show up on a given day. I would just buy your ticket when you are there or buy it online when you get there?

Good morning from Berlin.

As said: normally the tours are not booked out, they add a guide for a second parallel tour.

Places with "sell-outs" are underground tours (limited capacities), some events and seeing Reichstag from inside and visiting the dome. By the way: book a slot online if you want to visit this building.

This weekend Berlin was half empty from locals (who also like to do some of these tours during summer vacations) and not too much tourists. This will change rapidly for coming weekend (CSD) and continueing to weekend of August 2-4 looking forward to huge sports events and beer festival.

Important: The next days will be really warm. Wear a cap / hat and drink enough. There are several places with free tap water or refill.

Please share your experience after your journey.

Have a good stay in our city.
