Deutschland Ticket - 49 Euro ticket

We (family of 3) will be in Germany Sept 14-26 and will be covering following places:
1) Munich
2) Berlin
3) Hamburg
4) Frankfurt

There will be two types of train travel for us :
A) Intercity (IC) :

Munich - Berlin
Berlin - Hamburg
Hamburg - Frankfurt

B) Public transport within each city and day trips

and then we will be taking public transport within each city and will have day-trips from each place (likely Munich to Innsbruck, and similar at three cities)

Question :
will the Deutschland Ticket - 49 Euro ticket help us here ? I know it will not help us with A) Intercity (IC),
but will this be a good option for us with : B) Public transport within each city and day trips ?
(cost wise this means €49 + 2.70 = €51.70 each for 13 days, buying from Tranzer)

I did review https://www.seat61.com/train-travel-in-germany.htm#Deutschlandticket
would welcome any insights from you all.

Thx

Without knowing all the details, it is hard to say, it gets down to an "add up the segments" thing.

But off-hand, the D-Ticket offers simplicity, no buying multiple day passes or regional tickets.

You can look up exact prices, but a day pass on any of those transit systems will be 5-10 euro, a day ticket for the regions ~30 euro for the group. Some places you may not use any, or much transport, other places (Berlin) probably lots.

You mention daytrip to Innsbruck, the D-Ticket would only get you to Salzburg, you would need to buy a ticket for within Austria. But on the other hand, a ticket from Munich to Salzburg on a regional train would pretty much pay for the D-ticket.

I love the D ticket. I would buy it because I think you will get good value. I haven't heard of Tranzer. I have purchased for myself and family 4 times now on MVV app and it worked great and was easy. That said, I have a forum acquaintance that has really struggled with her purchase. We learned that an aol email address gets refused by the system......

This particular day trip by regional train will have you on the train for 5 hours, a disproportionate amount of transport time vs. boots-on-the-ground time for a day trip, IMHO. And of course the D-Ticket won't cover it all.

Thanks Carol and Russ.
Appreciate your feedback.

51.7 / 13 ~ € 3.98 per day - which is a good bargain for local transport.

The Deutschland Ticket is as above. And since it covers such things as the "S" lines it also works inside the major cities. It also covers some of the river ferries.

Looking at your dates of travel you need to purchase, and cancel, prior to 10 SEP or expect to pay for OCT also.

I would get the D-Ticket if this were my trip. I find it pays for itself in local all-day metro trips. As has been said, also more convenient to get one pass for all cities.
