When I buy my DB tickets on the DB app, is it also still a requirement to print the tickets?
Also, I want to buy the NRW SchönerTag. Besides buying it on the DB app, can I also buy it at the local train station ticket machine?

No.

Yes, at any DB or VRR/Transdev automat, but older ones (< 2019) don't take credit cards.

Continental, you may know this but just in case, I always keep the DB Navigator app open and "at the ready" so to speak. Sometimes there will be a last minute track change or delay, and you will see it on the app. There will be announcements (usually) and in the larger stations a notice will go across the moving banner, but it's very easy to miss sometimes with all the noise and bustle. And in the smaller stations, all you might have is the app to go by.
