How to get the best from visiting Dessau and the Bauhaus buildings. I am having problems understanding the layout of the town.
I do not understand what help you need.
Side notice: The Bauhaus100 website lists some other places worldwide celebrating 100th anniversary. Also some infos to Bauhaus in Dessau included.
The easiest walk from the center to the Bauhaus is through the underpass at the station. After a few steps you will reach the Seminarplatz place, from where you turn left into Bauhausstrasse. The Meisterhäuser are a little further north (Ebertallee), but are easy to find too. The easiest thing might be to stay in the hotel in the Ebert-Allee (Sieben Säulen, nothing special, but I thought it was ok).
BTW. Dessau has a surprisingly good opera house: https://anhaltisches-theater.de/ .
The nearby Gartenreich ("Garden Kingdom", an UNESCO world heritage site) is worth a visit too.
In addition on the website of the Dessau tourist information office you'll find a city plan indicating the various Bauhaus sites.
