sort of " bogged down" on above, going to OKfest and have lodging then on to Ragensberg, looking at Donuworth, Linz,Aus Wels, Innsbruck, and will have a car,( like the flexibility) Looking for other small towns and villages to visit. Experienced traveler but looking for suggestions. Also plan to visit Muathausen,Aus, Thanks. Len

Drive the Inn Valley. I would stay away from the Brenner pass Autobahn due to construction. The Schladming-Dachstein area is nice, but more for nature and hiking this time of year. I just remember smelling the steel mill in Linz. Did not visit as I drove through, but a different Österreich visit? Stubaitalbahn from Innsbruck to Fusch. Drive along the Dohnau to Wachau and the Waldviertel?
Main Franken Wein villages in Germany. Weltenburg Kloster and Kelheim on the Dohnau near Regensburg (is this the right Regensburg)? The Altmühltal und Main-Donau-Kanal towards Nürnberg. Straubing, Deggensdorf and Landshut.
