Has anyone been to the DDR Museum in Berlin? From my research, I understand that it gets very crowded. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions when the best time would be to visit?
I will be visiting in December and have a choice of Friday or Saturday. I am trying to decide what day AND what time would be the best to avoid some of the crowds. I read that it can get super busy with school groups.

If it's open into the evening, as some of the Berlin attractions are, I think heading over in the late afternoon might work well. The trick is estimating how much time you'll want to spend there and allowing a bit more time than that.
Avoiding weekends might possibly help a bit by sonewhat reducing the number of locals in attendance.
I've been there twice in the afternoon in May. There were a lot of German teens running around filling out papers about the museum, which made the museum crowded, but not unbearable.
What a fascinating museum!
I was there in August 4 years ago. I arrived as soon as the museum opened and the crowds were not an issue.
