DB Twin pass

Hello, I'm new and have a couple questions. I am trying to purchase the promotional 7 day twin pass from DB online. I have went through the point of entering credit card information and the site has not yet to asked for the 2nd travelers information. I stopped the purchase because I want to make sure I am doing the right thing.

The other question is I have a post office box. The site specifically asks for a street name and number. Are the passes sent by mail, or email? I can use a relative's home address, but will that cause a security conflict?

Thanks for the forum. I have learned a ton from this site already. I searched for my questions, but couldn't find definitive answers.

The site won't ask you for the 2nd traveler's information. They don't care. As long as the purchaser has proper identification (the credit card used for the purchase), it doesn't matter who uses the pass. Today, you might have to note the 2nd person when you validate the pass, just to make sure you don't change in the middle.

However, the DB site does ask for the second person's name for all twin passes except the 7-day promotional one, so the concern is legitimate. Furthermore, the 7-day promotional one has spaces for "children." Why?

I've e-mailed DB about this but doubt I will receive a response. It's a point of concern. I suggest picking up the ticket directly in Germany.

ok, now I'm worried. After the first reply, I went ahead and purchased a 5 day consecutive pass, since that was the only way to print a pass. It did not ask for the 2nd person's name or passport number. I hope I do not get there and have to pay for another pass.

It looks like I made a big mistake. Under the type of pass pull down, and class pull down, it list a box labeled "Name Mitreisender", Which translates to "Name traveling with". I put my name in that box, because it had not asked for my name yet. So on my pass, in the top box with the watermark type background it list Mitreisender with my name. My name is also at the bottom of the pass, along with my passport number. Is this correctable? What are my options?

Rail passes are personal, non-transferable, and always display all passengers' names. The issues you mention are exactly why I don't recommend buying this pass on DB's web site. Since you chose the consecutive-day pass, it is delivered by email and pre-validated (versus if you chose a flexi pass it would have been shipped by standard mail).

The best chance to have it corrected is with a ticket agent in your first train station, preferably before the start date printed on the pass, if you're there at that time. They might choose to replace it or to make other notations. You should not write on it. Also check whether paperwork they sent you mentions other options.

On the 2nd page of my printed pass, it states "Refund or exchange is only possible up until 1 day before validity. As of 1st day of
validity, no exchange or refund possible."

I will arrive in Germany the morning of my 1st day on the pass. I have emailed and also completed the form on the Contact Us page. Hopefully they reply. Any other ideas or suggestions? I'm getting a sick feeling about our trip.

Don't worry too much; wait to hear back. People make small mistakes in the traveler name or gender pretty often, which can usually be explained at the train station.

Just received an email from DB customer service that they are refunding the amount of my pass with no cancelation fees. They also sent more detailed instructions for ordering a pass. Now that that's taken care of, I can start some threads about what to do in Germany. Thanks for everyone's help.
