Does anyone know if DB IC Bus checks passenger passports against ticketed names before boarding the bus?
We had to replace a member of our travel group and was wondering if its necessary to switch up the name on the ticket.

Do you have a real group ticket (more than five travellers on one ticket) or a bunch of individual ones?
Due to fraud protection, you cannot simply transfer a "named" individual ticket to another traveller, but you can exchange it before the day of travel: flex tickets free of charge, saver fare tickets for a fee. If you have booked your ticket online you can change it online as well.
If you have a real group ticket just visit a Reisezentrum in a maior station; they will change the name. Or call +49 180 6 10 11 11. All details here (scroll down to "Is it possible to give the person-specific ticket to someone else?")
