DB Bahn site says there is no record of my order number

Hi all,

My family is leaving for Germany in a couple weeks. We'll be in Berlin for a few days before taking the train to Rothenburg, and then heading back to fly out of Berlin. I bought our train tickets on 1/1/15 from the DB Bahn site, and received the email with the PDF to print the tickets. For one reason or another, I went to their website today to look at my booking, and when I put in the order number/Auftragsnummer (copied and pasted directly from the PDF), I received this message: "We have no record of an order number XXXXXX. Please check your details." I'll have the tickets with me, of course, but do I need to worry that they won't be honored? Thanks!

I have not heard or experienced this specific problem in Germany. However, if you have the PDF tickets already printed, and ID to go with them, then I would not be too worried about the conductor accepting them onboard. Since seat assignments are not required, you can always board the trains. If you had a seat assignment and somebody else bought the duplicate seat due to computer issues, then you can use any other available seat. If you want to enquire at Berlin HBF, go to the ReiseCentrum area; the Euraide staff at window 12 there are Americans.

Hi Laura,

We don't have assigned seats, so I guess as long as we have proof of purchase we're okay? Fingers crossed! Thanks!

I would run a couple of double checks. Make sure you credit card was charged for the tickets. And you might try manually entering the numbers instead of cut and paste. And I think I would hit the ticket office a day or two before to have them check the tickets. I would rather deal with it at ticket office than on the train with a conductor. We have always found the German train conductors to be very friendly and helpful.

If the page you are checking includes a date are you entering the date in the European format of DD-MM-YY and not the US format of MM-DD-YY? And that you used the European format when you bought the tickets?

Did you log on to MyBahn using the same credentials?

I had this problem after ordering tickets on DB Bahn. The issue seems to be that contact info on the US English version of the DB Bahn site is for the US subsidiary of DB Bahn. Unless you had ordered your tickets directly through the US subsidiary site they would have no record of your order.
