DB App trick for Deutchland Ticket

When you purchase a ticket on on the DB app it saves your trip and can provide you with notifications regarding that trip. But what if you are using the Deutchland Ticket? Since you are not purchasing a ticket for a specific trip, how do you plan and then save your trip on the app?

You can bookmark a planned trip without making a purchase. For my upcoming travels in August I will bookmark all of my planned trips and then delete them one-by-one as I am traveling. Thanks DB!

I'm doing the same thing for my September-October trip.

Who are you buying your D-ticket from? I understand that only a few transportation providers accept foreign credit cards for purchase.

I am hoping to be able to load my ticket into my Apple wallet so I can access it even if I don't have internet access.

I would first check whether you can also buy the DT with the Apple Wallet. It works with Google Wallet anyway. The final contractual partner is then Transdev, a major operator of local trains.
Else I'd follow the advice of the Man in Seat 61.

I use the MVV app on my iPhone. Marriott Bonvoy credit card. Ticket gets loaded into the MVV app. Works offiline.

I bought mine from the RMV website (directly from the train company) and used PayPal to pay. It does set up a reoccurring charge so be sure to cancel that by the 10th of the previous month. I just bought my ticket for June yesterday and immediately cancelled the reoccurring charge so I wouldn’t have to pay for July.

I won't have the ap since my cell phone doesn't work in Europe. I will need to buy my tickets for Augsburg at the Munich airport. Will I have to use a machine or will a ticket counter with a person be available?

You don't need cell service, you only need WiFi. Which is available for free all over Europe.

Go to your local Starbuck or McDonalds. Put your phone in Airplane Mode and then turn on WiFi. If it works (it should) it will work at every Starbuck and McDonalds in Germany. Also in your hotel, on trains, grocery stores...the list goes on.
