Day/walking tours in Germany

Hi all,

We are going to Germany/Czech Republic at the end of May - Berlin 4 nights, Prague 3 nights, Munich 4 nights (possible day trip to Salzburg), Boppard 3 nights.

We are interested in any recommendations on walking tours or day trip tours in those areas. We did 2 tours in Italy that Rick recommended - a wine tour (Tours by Roberto) and a driving "tour" of the Almafi Coast. It didn't seem like there was many recommended for Germany/Czech Republic in his books. Any recommendations/past experiences would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

On walking tours in Berlin: Your hotel will have brochures on such available tours. There is also the Tourist Office at Berlin Hbf (central train station) and another one at Brandenburg Gate just east of the columns on the right hand side, where this sort info is available as well tickets.

Rick has walking tours recommended for most of the cities listed in his book.

For Munich, I'd recommend either Radius Tours or Mikes' Bikes. They get the best reviews on Trip Advisor and have the best guides. If you have the money, you could spring for a private tour with Dark History Tours. You will leave Munich thinking this is the best use of money possible, as the tours are that fantastic.

For Berlin, I'd recommend Insider Tours as I have gone on 5 of their themed tours and been extremely happy - Original Tour, Cold War, 3rd Reich, Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, and Potsdam. Their guides are very professional but also entertaining.
