I have stayed at the Edelweiss Hotel and took their trips. This time pondering staying in Munich and day tripping. It appears that a db ticket to Innsbruck is $40 per person. Is this the best price or have another idea??? Also, aware of any brewery tours in Munich?? I asked earlier about the Greisbrau in Morneau, but that seems to only work in a large tour. Reactions???

Weihenstephan brewery, in Freising, just north of Munich, is the oldest brewery in the world. Information about their tours is here. You can get to Freising by S-Bahn (S1, it's near the airport).
The fastest way (~2 hrs) to Innsbruck is by EuroCity train via Rosenheim. The full, walk-up fare is 42,40€/P, one way; with advance purchase, you can get 29,90€/P, one way with a non-refundable ticket.
A slower (~3 hrs), more scenic route is via Mittenwald. The full fare regional ticket is 26,40€/P, one way, but with a "Regio-Ticket Werdenfels plus Innsbruck" Ticket, for 27€ for the first person, 11€ each for the next 4, you have unlimited travel (eg, round trip) between Munich and Innsbruck. That route goes through Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Edelweiss).

Another great brewery that's reachable using public transportation with a bus or walk thrown in at the end is at the Andechs Monastery. They offer pre booked tours of the brewery for twelve people or more so maybe you could join a tour? http://andechs.de/en/guided-tours/ If not, the trip to the monastery and brewery is worth it on its own.

From Munich you can do a great day in Nuremberg - train then bus out to the Nazi museum which is excellent. Come back to town by bus and tour the old town, very scenic. Of course, Dachau is only 30 minutes away and well worth a half day spent there. Haunting.

You can catch the train to the beautiful city of Augsburg, about 50miles west of Munich.
Salzburg, Austria is another great day trip.
Dachu Concentration camp is just north of Munich.
Garmish, Fussen and Oberammergau are must see places that are generally offered on a tour.
