Day trips from Munich

I have 3 nights in Munich in July (we saw quite a bit of Munich last year) and are travelling from Rothenburg au tauber on a Bayern Ticket - can we use that same Bayern ticket to travel to Erding on the same day (we are booked for an 18.00 brewery tour).

Residence or Nymphenburg palace or both in one day ? I think just one will probably suffice, we like to chill and have a few beers as well, so was leaning towards also fitting in Koniglicher Hirschgarten as have not been before.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen, was looking at Zugspitze and Partnach Gorge, would it be possible to do both in a day ? If not we are going up high in Hallstatt and Berchtesgaden, would you drop Zugspitze or go for it if a clear day ?

Leaving Munich for Berchtesgaden, we have 5 hours at Prien am Chiemsee to put cases in lockers and explore, will this be sufficient time ?

Thanks in advance you lovely people

Cheers

Paul

Speaking of Erding... I think simply looking at this link should be sufficient.

The Partnachklamm and Zugspitze are easy enough in one day, but make sure you pick a day with a good weather forecast.

My total time from buying a boat ticket, riding to Herrenchiemsee, touring the Schloss, exploring the island and riding the boat back to Prien to my car probably took about 3 hours.

"can we use that same Bayern ticket to travel to Erding on the same day"

Yes, it's good for the whole day from 9:30 9 AM onwards on weekday, and the whole day with no start limitation on weekends.

Edited to reflect the mistake pointed out by another Forum member.

As posted by Harold, the Bayern-Ticket can be used for Rothenburg ob der Tauber to Erding. Just make sure you only try to use it on regional trains. If you use the German Rail schedule webpage, select "only local transport" to see the connection by regional trains. You'll probably have to go into the Munich Hbf and come back out to Erding on the S2.
